Funding of major events
The state capital Dresden supports the cultural and creative industries, which have been in trouble due to the Corona Pandemic, with the Corona Overcoming Fund.
Promotion of major events with a total of 555,000 euros for 2021 and 2022
On 10 June 2021, the Dresden City Council confirmed by majority vote the Corona Overcoming Fund of the Office for Culture and Monument Protection, which will provide additional funding to artists and cultural workers as well as the event industry again for this year.
The budget for the Support for Large Events project is 555,000 euros, the period covers June 2021 to December 2022.
The fund is used to support admission-free and non-admission-free large events that take place mainly outdoors in public spaces and private venues. Unused funds from 2021 can be carried over to the following year (due to the term until the end of 2022). Eligible expenses also include expenses for the development and implementation of hygiene concepts and measures.
Application deadlines:
Applications for funding of major events taking place in the summer of 2021 can be submitted until Friday, 25 June 2021. The Cultural Committee will decide on these applications at its meeting on Tuesday, 6 July 2021.
Applications for funding for major events taking place in the second half of 2021 can be submitted until Saturday, 31 July 2021. The Cultural Committee will decide on these applications at its meeting on Tuesday, 7 September 2021.
The deadline for submitting applications for funding for events in the 1st half of 2022 is Tuesday, 31 October 2021, for events in the 2nd half of 2022 the deadline is Saturday, 30 April 2022.
